Simple is good

Last night we went to see the movie/documentary "Marley" which was part of the Sydney Film Festival. The cinema was packed and you could tell that everyone was completely immersed in the film because at times during the movie as they moved from one scene to the next, or one story line to the next, there was complete silence on screen and off.

The film is about Bob Marley (not that rubbish film with Jenifer Aniston and a dog!) and contained lots of concert footage as well as interviews with band mates, family members and friends.Robert Nesta Marley really was an incredible performer. You could see that he was completely immersed in the music as it was being created with the band and himself. Lost in the performance or found in the performance, I am not sure which best describes it.

Anyway, my point from the title of this post is that Bob wanted peace and equality for all and that this is a very simple wish and one that many of us share. But somehow this simple idea is made difficult. In our world right now it seems almost too much to hope for that people should be fair and kind to one another, to stop harming one another. It feels as though we are being naive to even hold such a wish and I think that this is incredibly sad. That it should seem almost a silly idea to hope for harmony between countries, religions, neighbours, families, is sad.

I think it is important right now to keep holding this simple wish for equality and peace despite that fact that it might seem naive or that it may feel impossible. There is nothing wrong with wishing, dreaming, hoping and in fact this is the only way that action or change happens, through holding a pure wish.

Maybe we could hold this wish right now, even just for a moment, thinking......

I wish for peace between all people.

Thank you, love K.xx
